About Greene County, New York
Greene County is an area in New York State, located along the Hudson River and near the Catskill Mountains. Named for Revolutionary War hero General Nathanael Greene, it's bordered by Albany County in the North, Ulster County in the South, Columbia County in the East, and Delaware County in the West. The county contains the towns of Greeneville, Lexington, Prattsville and New Baltimore, among others. Greene County has a total area of 658 square miles and a population of a little over 47,000.
