Apples and pumpkins are among the true tastes of fall and what better way to enjoy the great outdoors than to pick your own delicious fall fruit. Below are some of the local farms that offer you the opportunity to pick-your-own.

Middlefield Orchard is a 130 acre fruit and vegetable farm that borders Cherry Valley Creek. They have a wide assortment of fruits and vegetables available to pick, but at this time of year the focus is on their many varieties of apples as well as pumpkins and raspberries. Open until the end of October, closed on Sundays.

This newly-opened bar and restaurant is run by husband-and-wife team Aaron Blakely and Misty Hackworth, and offers creations by chef Evan Chesney, formerly of area faves the DeBruce and Kenoza Hall.

The bar offers both local and imported beer, wine and spirits, as well as specialty cocktails including the "Debbie Gibson," "La Pistola" and "Acid Factory."
On the food side, The Junction's menu features bar snacks, salads, Junction burgers, and main courses ranging from their Grain Bowl to a Fried Chicken Sandwich. Nightly Blue Plate Specials are also on the menu.
Mid-to-late July is traditionally the start of berry picking season in our region. Picking your own is a fun outdoor activity that creates fond memories for both young and old. But blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries aren't the only things available for pickers to enjoy. Depending on the month, our local farmers also offer U-pick apples, vegetables and even flowers!
Be sure to check ahead with the farm you're interested in visiting to make sure what you're looking for is in season. And don't forget to visit them again in the fall. Pumpkin season is just around the corner!
