When many folks think of The Catskills, they often think of the hundreds of Borscht Belt hotels and resorts that were so popular in the 1920s through the 1970s. Most of those resorts were in Sullivan County. But what else do you know about this particular region of the Catskills? Here are a few things you may or may not know about Sullivan County.

The county was named after Major General John Sullivan, who was an American general in the Revolutionary War and a Governor of New Hampsh...
The Coldwell Banker Timberland Properties General Sales Meeting & Awards took place on the morning of April 13 and it was fantastic to gather to celebrate the accomplishments of our team! From company highlights, prizes, and company awards, this was such a fun time!

Several of our team members received much-deserved recognition for all they do for buyers and sellers in our area and we'd like to take a moment to recognize them here as well.

Looking for some New York culture that won't cost a fortune? Longyear Gallery in Margaretville is an artist-run cooperative representing professional artists from the New York Metropolitan area and rural New York State. Since the gallery's founding in 2007 word has spread, and the gallery has been visited by art lovers and collectors from all over the United States and abroad.

Exhibits change monthly, each including a new body of work by a featured artist along with a new group show.
The region we serve is so full of farm-fresh food and produce that we often take it for granted. Summer and fall bring us the best produce straight from the farm and there's nothing like it.
But winter shouldn't be ignored. Many of our area's farms are not only raising fruits, vegetables and meats, but they also harvest the juice of the maple tree, providing us with sweet maple syrup and sugar products.
Celebrating this tradition, Maple Weekend takes place this year on March 19-20 and March 26-27 at locations all across New York State. This is an amazing chance for the public to come to the farm to learn about New York's maple sugarmaking processes and traditions, and to taste pure maple syrup in its many forms – right from the source. This event is organized and sponsored by the New York State Maple Producers' Association.
