Spend the Holidays at The Farmers' Museum
The Farmers' Museum in Cooperstown opened its doors to the public in 1944 with over 5,000 tools and objects from New York's rural past in its collection. Today the museum's collections number more than 23,000 artifacts.
The museum is open from April to the end of October. Although the regular exhibits are closed for winter, the Museum still offers many special programs and events, especially during the holiday season.
The first of these event, Thanksgiving at the Farm, runs from November 26th to the 27th. The museum is the perfect setting to spend time with family and friends over the long holiday weekend. Originally built in the late 1920s as the clubhouse for the once popular Rip Van Winkle Golf Course, Shandaken Inn has been welcoming guests to the northern Catskills for almost one hundred years.
