Chances are if you've ever driven on Route 28, you have noticed a classic diner nestled along the base of the mountains in Phoenicia, NY. The Phoenicia Diner serves residents, travelers, and weekend warriors diner classics with a modern twist. The diner itself was built in 1962 and moved to the Catskills in the early 80s. The original owners served the community for nearly 30 years, creating a rich history for the diner.
The current owner, Mike Cioffi, carefully crafts the menu to exalt diner classics with locally sourced food as much as possible. There is indoor and outdoor seating, with tables available on a first come first serve basis. The bustling Diner is worth the stop and it's best to prepare for a little bit of a wait time. But don't worry, you are able to order coffee while you wait, and take in a gorgeous view of the Catskill Mountains that surround you. The pastry, food, and beverages are all mouthwatering. Make your way there, you will immediately plan your next visit.
