Summer and sunshine are upon us, with morning coffees on the deck and afternoon swims in nearby water holes. One of the most fantastic things about summer is a refreshing splash into a cool body of water. We have compiled a list of some of our favorite places, per county, to refresh and relax. Explore these locations and discover some secret spots on your own. Days on the water are one of the most rewarding gifts of summer!

At the restaurant, enjoy delicious sandwiches, tacos, rice and beans, impressive chicken wings, and a menu of specialty margaritas. Van Smokey's was started as a way to celebrate the owner, Jeff, and his dads childhood traditions and grew into a fun and exciting place to eat. Jeff's passion for smoking meat transpired from his love of beef jerky and from there, it's fully taken off.

The warm weather really highlights the agricultural vibrancy of The Catskills. Each week, local farmers bring their best produce, meat, fish and other goods to area farmers' markets to connect the community with amazing quality food. We have highlighted a farmers' market in Sullivan, Ulster, Otsego and Delaware Counties but know there are many more per county to visit. Here is a little sample. The Catskill Mountain area offers exceptional golf courses that are easy to navigate with little to no crowd and delicious food right on the course. Many golf courses have accommodations onsite or nearby, making it easy to book a trip for you and your best golf buddies. We've highlighted a few from Delaware, Otsego, Sullivan, and Ulster Counties but there are many more golf courses in each county. The peaceful and secluded nature of these courses are really something special.
