The Catskill Mountains and Hudson Valley are known for some of the most incredible trout fishing in the Eastern United States and arguably the world. The hundreds of miles of streams and rivers, large reservoirs, ponds and lakes, provide stunning backdrops and many options for various weather conditions. There are an array of public access points as well as guided tours on private waters. If you are looking to begin a new hobby or take it to the next level, there is fishing to be had in Ulster, Sullivan, Otsego and Delaware Counties. Explore some of these options with us!

Catskill towns are preparing to get festive for St. Patrick's Day. There are many ways to celebrate this Irish tradition and not all of them include Guinness (just a few). One of the best parades in upstate NY is found in the Ulster County town of Kingston. Strickland Hollow in Delaware County is offering two cooking classes in the Cuisine of Ireland. What better way to celebrate than to create your own feast? There is live music in Otsego County and a pre fixe Irish feast in Sullivan County. The adventures are out there!

The Catskills are about to undergo a shift in season and with it comes maple sugar harvests all across the state.
In a couple short weeks, Maple Weekend takes over the Catskills. For two consecutive weekends, March 18-19 and March 25-26, participating maple farms will have their doors open, welcoming the public into the maple sugar making process. Many maple farmers are carrying on family traditions of gathering sap and making it into sweet maple syrup treats. Maple Weekend gives the public an opportunity to talk with farmers about the process of making syrup, candy, and other maple products, while tasting and buying these confections direct from the source.
